Mount Rainier from the Goat Rocks Wilderness

Mount Rainier from the Goat Rocks Wilderness

The Goat Rocks Wilderness lies just south of Mount Rainier National Park. It is a wondrous place to hike and enjoy jaw dropping views of both Mount Rainier and Mount Adams.

Here are a few views of Mount Rainier from the Goat Rocks Wilderness on the Lily Basin Trail.

One of the more popular access routes into the Goat Rocks Wilderness is the trail to Snow Grass Flats. Here you can access the Pacific Crest Trail. The wildflower explosion here along the PCT as it rises above snow level is a sight to behold. Late July and early August are spectacular. This is one destination for North Cascades Hiking and Photo Tours!

Heading north the PCT ascends to more than 7,000 feet, over a shoulder of Old Snowy and then the trail miraculously tightropes along the Knife’s Edge, a sinewy section of trail literally along the crest of a razor ridge…oh and Mount Rainier is looming across the valley…not a bad view!

  1. Hi Andy,

    These photos are stunning!

I can’t wait to go there and will think about your words when going.

I think the more we travel, the more we change.
I will try and take my time and look away from the camera screen :).

    Thanks for sharing x
