Sunrise at Washington Pass
Fall weather brings stormy skies. Despite the grim forecast I made the 2-hour drive up the North Cascades Highway to Washington Pass.
The pass is the highest spot along the highway, at more then 5,400 feet. The pull out for the Washington Pass Overlook is near by and offers stunning views of Liberty Bell and the highway below.
Near by there is a simple way to scramble down from the road to a meadow with wonderful views of Liberty Bell from a different perspective.
The fall colors in the meadows were sublime. A small creek meanders its way throughout the basin, a squiggly line of water asking to included in the photo.
