Antelope Canyon
Antelope Canyon is located in northern Arizona, right outside the city of page, on the Navajo Reservation.
Its an amazing place. The canyon is a very narrow crack that is about 200-300 feet long.
To go you need to sign up for one if the Tours available through the reservation-based tour guides.
When I went there were maybe 200 people in the canyon at the same time! The guides keep everyone moving and try to create gaps so you can get a few images with no people in them.
My short tour was on an overcast day, while we were in the slot it actually started to snow a little.
The fluted formations and lines and texture on the sandstone is really something.
And there are so many interesting angles of rock and shadow.
In reality it is a place you could probably visit a dozen times and get a dozen different looks.
It sure would be nice to get back in there when the sky overhead is blue, at sunrise or sunset.
And of course I would like to have more time and less people to work on composition and angles in more detail.
But if you get down that way, take the time to stop in fopr a tour, it is a very unique place!
