The book “Crown Jewel Wilderness: Creating North Cascades National Park” by Lauren Danner chronicles the formation of the North Cascades National Park. Its a detailed look at the people and forces who formed the park. You can read more about Lauren and the book here.

Lauren contacted me after a google image search, looking for an image to grace the cover of her book, and settled on this image from one of my nights at Sahale Glacier Camp.

I have to say that I am pretty proud to have my image on such a book!

The North Cascades National Park turns 50 this year which is a cause for celebration, here is a link to the North Cascade National Park web site with info about the celebration.
